About HELM
HELM Diamond Drilling Ltd. was incorporated in September 2020 and began operations later that year supporting mineral exploration projects in British Columbia. Since inception, HELM has expanded steadily across Western and Northern Canada, operating in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
Headquartered at 1041 Whenun Road in Prince George, British Columbia, HELM provides professional diamond drilling services focused on safety, performance, and operational reliability.
As a 100% Tahltan owned company, HELM is committed to supporting Indigenous participation in the resource sector. We prioritize hiring qualified local and community members and work with regional registries to ensure proper tier recognition and transparent ownership structures.

THE PEOPLE
Leadership Team
HELM Diamond Drilling is led by experienced field professionals with drilling backgrounds across Canada, including skid, heli-portable, underground, ice, and barge-supported operations. Founded by Alan McPherson, a Tahltan Nation member who advanced from Helper to Foreman before establishing HELM, the company is built on firsthand industry experience.
Leadership remains directly involved in operations, safety oversight, and crew development to ensure consistent performance and accountability across all projects.

Alan McPherson
OWNER/PRESIDENT
Alan is a Tahltan First Nation Member from Northern British Columbia. Starting his career in 2005 as a drillers helper he worked his way up through the industry, working at locations throughout Canada and building on his experience with skid, fly and underground drilling. In late 2020 Alan opened his own drilling company, offering his years of experience and knowledge to local industry with the goal of local employment and safe, reputable results.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Alec comes to us from Manitoba, where he completed a degree in Geology and has since worked throughout the Mining and Exploration industry in several provinces across Canada, with experience planning drill campaigns and managing projects he is happy to help bridge the gap between drilling and geology.

Lindsay Doering
HR MANAGER
Lindsay is the HR Manager at HELM Diamond Drilling Ltd. and plays a key role in keeping the company organized, supported, and running smoothly behind the scenes. She oversees hiring and onboarding, employee records, payroll coordination, scheduling support, and day-to-day human resources administration. Lindsay helps ensure crews and staff have the information, documentation, and support they need, while also assisting with internal communication and maintaining strong, professional systems across the company.
